Kris Sloan

General Manager/Owner

Kris grew up in Edmonton and is currently raising his family in Beaumont. He is a graduate of the Telecommunications Engineering program at NAIT and spent his previous working years in Oilfield Geomatics and Heavy Equipment operating before joining Cutting Edge in 2007. Kris started as a labourer and has had the unique opportunity to hold almost every position in the company before becoming the Operations manager and a shareholder in 2013. In June of 2017, Kris acquired 100% of Cutting Edge from Peter Mulder, the late founder of Cutting Edge. Kris focuses on culture and safety which are the keys to Cutting Edge’s growth and success in the construction industry. Teamwork is the first and most important ingredient. Our mission statement is born of Kris’s vision; Together we build our future and our future looks bright!


Neil Stone

Field Operations Manager

Neil was born and raised in Edmonton and is the father of 4.  He started his career with Cutting Edge in 2007 as the shop foreman and general mechanic.  In 2009 he became part of the Management team when he dove head-first into the construction end of the business.  He has enjoyed great success in both residential and commercial landscaping, building award winning projects in both fields.  In 2017 he became Cutting Edge’s Field Operations Manager.  Growing Cutting Edge is Neil’s focus and providing stable work environment for his staff through team work is his main priority.


Crystal Curé

Office Manager

Crystal and her son have resided in Beaumont since 2011 after relocating from Athabasca. She enjoys photography and has obtained a certificate in Professional Photography through New York Institute of Photography. As Office Manager, Crystal is responsible for all office procedures, using her organizational skills to ensure smooth operations in a busy work environment. Crystal is a key part of day to day operations. Crystal has a Banking and Business Certificate from NAIT and has accumulated over 20 years of office management experience. Coming from the oilfield industry she joined the Cutting Edge Team in the fall of 2015 as an Accounts Payable Administrator and in January of 2016 was promoted to Office Manager. The genuine team environment is what makes Cutting Edge a unique place to work and what Crystal values most.

Tyler Feist

Lead Estimator & Project Coordinator

Tyler was born and raised in Spruce Grove and is the youngest member of the Cutting Edge team. Graduating in 2015 from the Construction Engineering Technologies program at NAIT, Tyler started his career working as a Project Coordinator for a general contractor in the commercial construction field. After joining Cutting Edge in 2016, Tyler quickly moved into the role of Lead Estimator and now oversees all estimating and pre-construction activities. 

Chris Henderson

Project Manager

Chris was born in Halifax and raised in Cherrybrook Nova Scotia. He followed his passion for cars and completed his apprenticeship for automotive mechanic and autobody repair at ACC. He worked for dealerships and collision centers for many years before moving West. In the fall of 2013 Chris moved to Edmonton and started his career with Cutting Edge. He began as a laborer, and through hard work and client/site management, was promoted to project manager in the fall of 2014. While running point on the Residential project’s portfolio, Chris has successfully completed many commercial construction installations. His passion for people and his work shows with every project he completes.

Ryan Campbell

Field Superintendent/ISA Cert. Arborist

Originally from the Bon Accord Alberta, Ryan grew up enjoying sports, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. A 2006 diploma from NAIT’s Biological Sciences program and a 2008 B.SC majoring in Conservation biology from the University of Alberta lead Ryan to begin his career as an environmental scientist monitoring wildlife/fisheries and biodiversity throughout the province. Since 2010 Ryan has been involved in the Edmonton region landscape construction industry. As Field Superintendent/ Arborist, Ryan is relied upon to ensure trees and plant materials are healthy, well maintained, and installed to specifications. He also adds support to our entire maintenance division.

David Burkholder

Dispatcher, Soil & Materials Sales & Procurement

David has spent his whole career in the landscape industry and joined Cutting Edge Landscaping in 2022.  He has a unique background with a diploma in Business Administration and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every project. 

Having grown up on a farm David developed a passion for the outdoors and a deep understanding of the natural environment; he easily applies this to his work in the landscaping industry.

In his time outside of work, David is kept extremely busy with his young family.  He married his wife in 2015 and they have three little boys who also have a deep love of the outdoors.

Jordan Simnovec

Maintenance Division Manager

Jordan was born and raised in Edmonton and is the proud father of 4.   Before joining Cutting Edge, Jordan spent 10 years working in the logistics and distribution industry. In his spare time, Jordan plays hockey while also coaching 3 of his children.  In 2017, Jordan started his career with Cutting Edge and towards the end of 2019, Jordan had joined the Management team.  Jordan takes great pride in ensuring our land development, commercial landscaping, neighbourhoods, and clients properties remain beautiful.

Danielle Thompson

Administration & Accounts Payable

Danielle was born and raised in Saskatchewan but has proudly called Alberta home since 1999.  In 2007 she received her Massage Therapy Certificate and graduated with honors.  In 2008 an opportunity came up to do Inventory Control for an Oil & Gas Company, at which time Danielle made the move to Edmonton.  Which eventually led her to the Cutting Edge Team in 2018 where she enjoys the busy environment and happily provides support in all areas of the business as required.
