Kris grew up in Edmonton and is currently raising his family in Beaumont. He is a graduate of the Telecommunications Engineering program at NAIT and spent his previous working years in Oilfield Geomatics and Heavy Equipment operating before joining Cutting Edge in 2007. Kris started as a labourer and has had the unique opportunity to hold almost every position in the company before becoming the Operations manager and a shareholder in 2013. In June of 2017, Kris acquired 100% of Cutting Edge from Peter Mulder, the late founder of Cutting Edge. Kris focuses on culture and safety which are the keys to Cutting Edge’s growth and success in the construction industry. Teamwork is the first and most important ingredient. Dale grew up in the Edmonton area and graduated from NAIT with a red seal millwright ticket. He spent most of his career in the oilfield working across Canada and around the world. Dale joined the Cutting Edge team in early 2013 as a commercial project manager and is now the Division manager of commercial and land development landscape. Dale works alongside clients and consultants to ensure their needs are met and projects are delivered on time, and on budget. Dale’s specialty is producing large scale land development sites and ensuring that they are built to City specifications.
Lance Simonin was born and raised in Calgary Alberta. He studied Ecology at the University of Manitoba and Business Management at NAIT. Before working with Cutting Edge Landscaping, Lance was an Environmental Consultant in the oil & gas industry. Lance started working with Cutting Edge Landscaping in the construction department in 2015. Since 2015, Lance has grown into many different roles with the company including estimating, project coordination and project management. Lance has had the privilege to work on many unique high profile and highly specialized construction projects with Cutting Edge Landscaping. Lance is also a PEG (Professional Estimating Group) committee member with the ECA. Lance believes that effective communication, organization and strong problem-solving skills are the key to successful project management.
Jenni Beddoes was raised on a small farm in central Alberta. After graduating from New Norway school, she studied Landscape Architecture at NAIT where she received her L.A.T designation. Before coming to work at Cutting Edge Landscaping, Jenni was working as an L.A.T at a multidisciplinary consulting firm. Jenni came to Cutting Edge in 2017. She was initially hired as a Project Coordinator to facilitate City inspections. She has since taken on the role of managing the maintenance department, inspections, and in house design build projects. Jenni recently received her Pesticide Applicator Certificate, and sits on the Alberta Association of Landscape Architects as the L.A.T representative. Jenni strives to set Cutting Edge apart in our industry by ensuring that our company leaders are educated in holding our constructed sites to the highest standard of completion and maintenance.
Crystal and her son have resided in Beaumont since 2011 after relocating from Athabasca. She enjoys photography and has obtained a certificate in Professional Photography through New York Institute of Photography. As Office Manager, Crystal is responsible for all office procedures, using her organizational skills to ensure smooth operations in a busy work environment. Crystal is a key part of day to day operations. Crystal has a Banking and Business Certificate from NAIT and has accumulated over 20 years of office management experience. Coming from the oilfield industry she joined the Cutting Edge Team in the fall of 2015 as an Accounts Payable Administrator and in January of 2016 was promoted to Office Manager. The genuine team environment is what makes Cutting Edge a unique place to work and what Crystal values most.
